This tour is ideal for those interested in a first introduction to James Joyce and will celebrate the life of the iconic Irish writer with a walk through the streets of the city he immortalized in his ground-breaking novel, Ulysses. The route will partly follow the book’s main character, Leopold Bloom and his famous wanderings through the streets of Dublin on 16 June 1904. Dublin has changed enormously since then but we will still encounter many of Bloom’s intriguing stops or indeed places associated with Joyce himself along the way. Our final destination will be same as that of Bloom himself, who eventually paused for lunch of a Gorgonzola cheese sandwich and a glass of Burgundy wine at the renowned Davy Byrne’s.
Tours at 10:30am and 2:30pm on Friday 16 June.
