Join us for a Joycean musical odyssey in St. Anne’s Church, Dawson St, where we’ll treat you to a rendition of some of Joyce’s favourite songs and arias. The programme will include ‘The Minstrel Boy’, ‘Down by the Salley Gardens’, ‘Love’s Old Sweet Song’, ‘Silent, O Moyle’ and many more featured in Joyce’s writings, as well as some well-loved Italian choruses performed by Il Coro Italiano di Dublino.
We’ll be joined on the night by Soprano Niamh McCormack, who features on 2008’s My Gentle Harp, a recording of the complete set of Thomas Moore’s Melodies. We’ll also feature a promising tenor, James McCreanor, who is currently studying under Dr. Veronica Dunne at the Royal Irish Academy of Music.
If you feel the pangs of hunger after our concert, step into the Church hall for a little Burgundy and gorgonzola, a few olives and a sociable chat before we bid you ‘adieu, adieu, adieu’!
