Bloomsday at Dalkey Castle & Heritage Centre (15 & 16 June)

Begin your Joycean celebrations on the eve of Bloomsday in Dalkey Castle & Heritage Centre on June 15 at 8pm. A team of actors will perform enlightening extracts from Ulysses, Dubliners, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man and more. Tenor Simon Morgan and Soprano Donna Malone will be accompanied by Josh Johnston in songs that James Joyce sang or which feature in his work. Refreshments will be served. Admission is €15.

Dalkey Schoolroom Scene: On June 16 at 3:30pm, the Nestor Episode from Ulysses will be brought to life before your eyes in a memorable dramatisation featuring school headmaster Mr Deasy and Joyce’s young protagonist Stephen Dedalus. Afterwards, there will be a guided Joycean Walk led by an expert guide, who will explain some of Joyce’s surprising links to the town of Dalkey. Pre-booking essential. Admission €12.
