Did you know that James Joyce, famed chronicler of Dublin, spent the majority of his life abroad? From the age of 22, he travelled widely to Zurich, Pola, Trieste, Rome and Paris with few returns to Dublin. And yet, his writing has celebrated Ireland and Dublin, preserving the 16th of June 1904 forever in his readers’ memories.
At EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, we tell the story of the 10 million people who left Ireland to make new lives abroad – including James Joyce. This Bloomsday, we’d like to invite you to join us on a guided tour of our exhibition, with a Joycean twist. For the normal price of admission (€14), we’ll offer a Bloomsday-themed guided tour of EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, with a particular focus on Joyce’s story. The tour will also feature readings from Joyce by talented actors and spot prizes for those who can demonstrate the depth of their Joycean knowledge.
The tours will begin at 11am and 3pm sharp. After the tours, guests can feel free to explore the museum at their leisure.
