Bloomsday Festival’s Flagship Event Returns to Meeting House Square with Readings and Songs from Ulysses.
It’s time to don that boater hat and join us for an afternoon of readings and songs from Ulysses as part of the Bloomsday Festival’s flagship event Readings and Songs at Meeting House Square in Temple Bar, on Bloomsday, Tuesday, 16th June at 3-6pm.
This year, Com O’Regan will introduce the show, featuring a cast of noted Irish writers, actors, musicians, pundits, and everyone in between, reading extracts from Ulysses. Together, they will bring Joyce’s unforgettable prose to life—from the vivid depiction of Dublin’s “snotgreen sea” to Molly Bloom’s famous “yes”, delivered this year by award-winning visionary artist FELISPEAKS.
This is a free outdoor event (please dress up but dress for the weather) with no booking required.
A cherished Bloomsday tradition, this afternoon of Readings and Songs from Ulysses in the heart of the city is an essential part of the Bloomsday experience. transforms the city into a living homage to Joyce’s genius, combining literature, music, and performance in a free, open-air celebration that is not to be missed.
