Hibsen in Concert

Irish contemporary folk music ensemble Hibsen will perform on Saturday, 6th June at 7.30pm at the Church of St. George and St. Thomason Cathal Brugha Street as part of Bloomsday Festival 2026.

Hibsen was formed by folk artists Gráinne Hunt and Jim Murphy. They will perform songs from their debut album The Stern Task of Living (2023), which is based on the short stories from James Joyce’s Dubliners. They will be accompanied by Frank McNally of The Irish Times, who will share his insights into the short stories from Dubliners throughout the show.

The Stern Task of Living is a wonderful collection of songs, really they’re fabulous.” John Creedon (RTE Radio 1)

“The arrangements are thoughtful … and the lyrics come from the pen of people who have spent a lot of time in Joyce’s world.” John Meagher (Irish Independent)

Tickets are €20. Doors open at 7pm.
