Himself and Nora: A Muzi Short Film

Himself and Nora, the hit off-Broadway musical, is now in a new musical theatre format that combines AI filmmaking with original music and text to tell the love story of James Joyce and Nora Barnacle.

Written and created by playwright and Broadway composer Jonathan Brielle, this Bloomsday Festival event invites you to witness how art and technology can collaborate without compromising human craft — a world premiere you can stream from home or see live at the James Joyce Centre. Using new music AI audio visual software, Jonathan Brielle has collaborated with software developers to produce this new genre called a Muzi™.

This new short film will be screening at 12-4pm on Bloomsday, Tuesday, 16th June in the Volta Room at the James Joyce Centre and simultaneously it will be launched for free online at www.watchamuzi.com. There will be a special live musical performance of Himself and Nora at 3pm with Jonathan Brielle and Darina Gallagher.
