This tour is ideal as a first introduction to James Joyce and will celebrate his life and work by walking through the streets of the city he immortalised in his groundbreaking novel, Ulysses. The route will partly follow the book’s main character, Leopold Bloom, in his famous wanderings in the year 1904.
Dublin has changed enormously since then, but we will still encounter many of Bloom’s intriguing stops or indeed places associated with Joyce himself along the way.
Our destination will be the renowned Davy Byrne’s Pub, where Bloom paused for lunch of a Gorgonzola cheese sandwich and a glass of Burgundy wine. After the tour, you may independently partake of the same in the company of numerous other Joyceans who will be gathering here with many gaily dressed in the flamboyant costumes of the period.
