A lively afternoon of readings, dance, music and laughter in the garden of Phibsboro Library on Bloomsday June 2019. There will be a preview of Phibsboro Tidy Towns Sustainable Day in September with a focus on James Joyce as the great recycler of language, ideas and products (e.g.: food, paper, and even coffins!) and how we can all follow his example.

There will be readings by performers Val O'Donnell ('Flann's Yer Only Man'), Paula Mongey, Helen McGrath, Des Gunning (Joyceborough founder) and wonderful dancing from Miss Eileene. Alan O'Riordan will speak about Joyce, Cork and Europe. Snacks and coffee are kindly donated by the Spar shop next to Temple Street Church, a Joycean landmark. The library garden also has a permanent Joycean feature and is overlooked by a recently commissioned gable-end mural by artist Fionnuala Halpin. This is a free event, no booking required.
