📚 ขอชวนเข้าร่วมงานเสวนาวรรณกรรมของไอร์แลนด์!
ทุกวันที่ 16 มิถุนายนของทุกปี ผู้อ่านทั่วโลกจะร่วมเฉลิมฉลองวันบลูมส์เดย์ (Bloomsday) เพื่อรำลึกถึงชีวิตและผลงานของ เจมส์ จอยซ์ (James Joyce) หนึ่งในนักเขียนผู้ทรงอิทธิพลที่สุดของไอร์แลนด์ โดยได้แรงบันดาลใจจาก ลีโอโพลด์ บลูม (Leopold Bloom) ตัวเอกจากนวนิยาย Ulysses ที่ถือเป็นผลงานระดับมาสเตอร์พีซของวรรณกรรมสมัยใหม่ วันบลูมส์เดย์ จึงเปี่ยมไปด้วยจิตวิญญาณของวรรณกรรมแนวโมเดิร์นนิสม์ พร้อมกับความงดงามของชีวิตประจำวันที่ถ่ายทอดผ่านภาษาที่มีความสละสลวย
เพื่อร่วมฉลองวันบลูมส์เดย์ สถานเอกอัครราชทูตไอร์แลนด์ประจำประเทศไทย ร่วมกับพันธมิตร ขอเชิญคุณมาร่วมค้นพบเสน่ห์ของวรรณกรรมไอริชในกิจกรรมพิเศษ “จากไอร์แลนด์ถึงไทย ร่วมฉลองวันบลูมส์เดย์ผ่านวรรณกรรมและนักเขียนไอริช” (Bloomsday & Beyond: Celebrating Ireland, the Island of Writers) ที่จะจัดขึ้นใจกลางกรุงเทพฯ พร้อมร่วมเปิดมุมมองใหม่ผ่านบทสนทนาเกี่ยวกับวรรณกรรมไอริช ตั้งแต่อดีตถึงปัจจุบัน ตั้งแต่ Oscar Wilde นักเขียนคนสำคัญของไอร์แลนด์ บทกวีที่จับใจของ W.B. Yeats ไปจนถึงมุมมองร่วมสมัยของ Sally Rooney ที่ถ่ายทอดโลกยุคสมัยได้อย่างเฉียบแหลม

Each year on 16 June, readers across the globe celebrate Bloomsday to honor the life and work of James Joyce, one of Ireland’s most iconic literary figures. Named after Leopold Bloom, the central character in Joyce’s groundbreaking novel Ulysses, Bloomsday captures the spirit of modernist literature and the beauty of everyday life told through extraordinary language.
This year, we’re bringing that spirit to Bangkok with a special event that celebrates the many voices of Irish authors from different eras. Whether you are a literature fan or would like to discover something new, this is your chance to explore the evolution of Irish storytelling. From the wit of Oscar Wilde and the poetry of W.B. Yeats to the modern perspective of Sally Rooney, Irish literature has inspired readers for generations.
