Bloomsday in Copenhagen
Bloomsday Reading (16th June)
At Thiemers Bookshop, we are celebrating perhaps the funniest (and most misunderstood) book of the twentieth century. Tuesday d. June 16, at 18.30 to 21:00 we will read James Joyce’s classic novel ULYSSES (1922). It’s happening all over the world on the very day when the book takes place in Dublin in 1904. No expert knowledge needed. Just bring your laughing muscle and listening ear. The Irish Ambassador Kyle O’Sullivan reading the first passage.
Afterwards anyone who wants can read up – and get a glass of whiskey for the effort. Read your favorite passage out loud, write and reserve it at info@thiemersmagasin.dk or let us suggest one for you on the day. Anyone can listen in. It’s going on in our secret backyard!
