Bloomsday In Córdoba Argentina
On 16th June, the Undersecretary of Culture and the Prosecretary for International
Relations of the National University of Cordoba together with the Embassy of
Ireland in Argentina invite you to a new edition of their cycle “Vivan los Bares”
dedicated to Bloomsday.
It is 120 years since the 16th of June 1904, the day that chronicles the experience
of three characters in Dublin. Since then, Joyce’s Dublin expanded in the
imagination of a vast generation of readers who from that moment on have
recognised in their own cities around the world many of the details narrated by
Joyce in what is perhaps the most singular and widely studied novel of the 20th
century.
To celebrate this reading experience, some corners of the Barrio
Güemes in Córdoba city will become the live setting of Joyce’s novel, where we
will have the chance to read and experience Ulysses in our city by the hand of a
mobile company of actors-readers. Finally, a well-known wine bar, La Cova del
Drac, will be the last stop of this journey where some special guests will share
their views on one of the most decisive literary artefacts of contemporary history.

El próximo 16 de junio, la Subsecretaría de Cultura y la Prosecretaria de
Relaciones Internacionales de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba junto a la
Embajada de Irlanda invitan a una nueva edición de su ciclo Vivan los Bares
dedicada a Bloomsday.
Se cumplen 120 años del 16 de junio de 1904 que relata el Ulyses. En ese lapso
de tiempo, el Dublin de Joyce se expandió en la imaginación de muchas
generaciones de lectores que desde ese momento habrán reconocido en sus
propias ciudades muchos de los detalles narrados en la que es quizá la novela
más singular y estudiada del siglo XX y lo que va de este.
Para celebrar esa
experiencia de lectura, algunas esquinas del Barrio Güemes de la capital
cordobesa serán escenarios en los que podremos leer y vivir el Ulyses en nuestra
ciudad de la mano de una compañía movil de actores – lectores. Por último, un
bar, La cova del drac, será la parada obligada para que algunos invitados
especiales nos brinden sus miradas acerca de uno de los artefactos literarios
decisivos de la historia contemporánea.
