Storytelling is at the heart of both Irish and West African cultures. The Embassy of Ireland in Senegal will be celebrating Bloomsday and Beyond in Senegal with the bookstore Chez Alpha Books. We will be marking the day with a donation of a collection of Irish literature to the book-lending club at Chez Alpha. The Bloomsday event will involve a short handing over ceremony and readings from works of Irish literature (including children’s books) alongside a performance from a Kora player, the Senegalese traditional musical instrument.
