Bloomsday in Lagos

The Embassy of Ireland in Nigeria and Friends of Ireland Nigeria are proud to present a special screening of 100 Years of Ulysses by Ruán Magan on Saturday, June 7th at 5.30pm in the Alliance Française de Lagos / Mike Adenuga Centre.

James Joyce’s Ulysses was published in Paris on 2nd February, 1922. The impact of Joyce’s literary masterpiece is celebrated every year around the world with Bloomsday readings and gatherings. You are invited to join us as we celebrate Bloomsday with a debut Lagos screening of 100 Years of Ulysses, a one hour long documentary by renowned filmmaker Ruán Magan, which sets out to unlock one of the most impregnable and explosive books of modern times. The screening will feature a recorded introduction by the Director of The James Joyce Centre Dublin, Darina Gallagher.

The event is free but booking is essential.
