On the 16th of June of them every year, Bloomsday celebrated in Ireland, honoring the life and artwork of Irish writer James Joyce. In this year’s programme “Bloom Day and Beyond: Celebrating Ireland, the Writer’s Island”, The Embassy of Ireland in Latvia in collaboration with the National Library of Latvia, will give away free books to those interested📚
💬 Our little island has produced Nobel Prize winners, Booker Prize winners, and we have a thriving writing and publishing environment. The literary environment has certainly changed since Joyce, but Ireland’s fantastic literature and authors export has not.
📌Join us on the 16th from 10am at the National Library of Latvia Customer Service Center to find out more about Bloomsday and Irish literature in general, plus a free book by an excellent Irish author.
