Bloomsday in Zurich

The Zurich James Joyce Foundation will host their annual Bloomsday event at 17:30 on Sunday, 16 June. Taoiseach Simon Harris will deliver remarks at the event. The event’s theme is ‘What happened before Bloomsday? Major stories about minor characters’, with guests invited to find out about the past lives of minor figures in Ulysses. Readings will be followed by music by Helen Maier and Raoul Morat performing as the Áed Duo. The Taoiseach will also visit the grave of James Joyce in Zurich’s Fluntern Cemetery, where he is buried alongside his wife Nora Barnacle and their son Giorgio.
