Bloomsday in Waterford

Join us in Waterford City on Tuesday, 16th June for a fun and lively celebration of Bloomsday! Whether you’re a fan of Joyce or just love a good cultural event, this day is packed with great vibes, stories, and community spirit. Don’t miss out on this cool chance to experience Waterford in a unique way. See you there!

The day begins at Bishops Palace at 11.00 am for a Bloomsday Waterford walk. Entry is free for the tour but must be booked here on Eventbrite. Architectural locations unique to Irelands oldest city that have an association with James Joyce will feature. The walk will also include Waterford Central Library and the SETU Design Graduate Showcase that created the visual promotional work for the 2026 Bloomsday Festival in Waterford. The walk will conclude at the Granville Hotel.

Readings and performances will take place in the afternoon at the Waterford Gallery of Art (WGOA) with a special performance from the Ballycullane mummers. The actress Clare Mullen will read from ULYSSES. Exhibition of art instillation’s from the students of Design Year 4, SETU, Waterford will be on display in the gallery.

The evening provides the film screening of ‘Nora’ & ‘Letter To Miss Weaver.’ Tickets can be purchased directly for both from Garter Lane Art Centre for €6.50: https://garterlane.ie/events/bloomsday-waterford-2026-presents-nora/

We are excited to share that the film screening will be introduced by the director of Nora, Pat Murphy.

The evening ends with traditional Irish music at Tully’s Bar.
